Rules for non-Italians participants

1. The Associazione Radioamatori Italiani (A.R.I.) has the honour of inviting radio amateurs from all over the world to participate in the ARI International DX Contest.

2. Aim. It is a world-wide competition: everybody can work everybody.

3. Date and time. The contest will be held on each first full week-end of May starting at 1200Z. Saturday and ending at1159Z Sunday. In year 2015 the dates will be May 2-3.

4. Categories
· Single Operator – CW – HIGH/LOW POWER
· Single Operator – SSB – HIGH/LOW POWER
· Single Operator – RTTY – HIGH/LOW POWER
· Single Operator – MIXED – HIGH/LOW POWER
· Multi Operator - Single TX – MIXED & HIGH POWER only
· SWL - Single Operator - MIXED

Notes:
a) Only one signal is permitted at any time.
b) Use of packet cluster, skimmers or any other alerting system is permitted for all entrants
c) Self spotting or asking other stations to spot you is not allowed
d) Multi-Operator stations must adhere to the 10 minutes rule (both runner and multiplier station). Only one band and one mode can be used within a 10 minutes period, while another band and mode can be used only to work a new multiplier. The 10 minutes period starts when the first QSO is logged on that band/mode. QSO in violation of the 10 minutes rule should be left in the log and they will be automatically deleted by the Committee but no extra penalties will be applied. Be aware that an excessive number of violations may lead to the disqualification of the entry.
e) LOW POWER category entrants can use 100W maximum total output power.

5. Bands. Bands from 10m through 160m (RTTY: 10m through 80m), except WARC bands, are allowed according to IARU Band Plans.

6. Exchange. Italian stations will send RST and two letters to identify their province. Other stations will send RST and a serial number from 001. The serial number will NOT restart from 001 on each band/mode.

7. Multipliers.
· each Italian province (110) count 1 (one) multiplier,
· each DXCC country (except I & IS0 & IT9) count 1 (one) multiplier.
The same multiplier (country/province) can be counted once and only once for each band.
The 110 Italian provinces (by call-area) are the following:
· I1: AL, AT, BI, CN, GE, IM, NO, SP, SV, TO, VB, VC.
· IX1: AO.
· I2: BG, BS, CO, CR, LC, LO, MB, MI, MN, PV, SO, VA.
· I3: BL, PD, RO, TV, VE, VI, VR.
· IN3: BZ, TN.
· IV3: GO, PN, TS, UD.
· I4: BO, FC, FE, MO, PC, PR, RA, RE, RN.
· I5: AR, FI, GR, LI, LU, MS, PI, PO, PT, SI.
· I6: AN, AP, AQ, CH, FM, MC, PE, PS (or PU), TE.
· I7: BA, BR, BT, FG, LE, MT, TA.
· I8: AV, BN, CB, CE, CS, CZ, IS, KR, NA, PZ, RC, SA, VV.
· I0: FR, LT, PG, RI, RM (or ROMA), TR, VT.
· IT9: AG, CL, CT, EN, ME, PA, RG, SR, TP.
· IS0: CA, CI, NU, OG, OR, OT, SS, VS.

8. QSO/Points
· QSO/HRD with own country counts 0 (zero) point but is good for the multipliers credit.
· QSO/HRD with own continent counts 1 (one) point,
· QSO/HRD with different continent counts 3 (three) points,
· QSO/HRD with any Italian (I & IS0 & IT9) station counts 10 (ten) points.
The same station can be contacted on the same band once on SSB/CW/RTTY but only the first QSO is good for multiplier credit.
PLEASE REMEMBER that I (Italy) IT9 (Sicily Island) and IS0 (Sardinia Island) are NOT country-multipliers.

9. Final score. The Final Score is the sum of QSO/points from all bands multiplied by the sum of multipliers from all bands.

10. SWL Stations. Listeners are required to log both the callsign of the station heard and of the correspondent station. Score is calculated based only upon the station heard using the same rules as per the transmitting stations. A callsign may appear NOT more than 3 (three) times on each band as a correspondent station, regardless of mode.

WARNING/EXCEPTION: SWLlog must be submitted within 48 hours after the end of the contest (2359Z May 5, 2015)

11. LOG instructions .(NEW)
ATTENTION PLEASE – LOG WEB UPLOAD ONLY
a) Only CABRILLO log will be accepted
b) LOG must be WEB-Uploaded at ua9qcq.com at this link
c) LOG must be web-uploaded no later than 5 days after the contest (2359Z May 8th, 2015)
WARNING/EXCEPTION: SWLlog must be submitted within 48 hours after the end of the contest (2359Z May 5, 2015)
d) The Web-Uploader (or Robot) will send a confirmation on the log submission.
e) A list of the received LOG will be immediately visible on the ua9qcq.com site and will also be published on www.ari.itsite.
f) If you are not able, for whatever reason, to submit a CABRILLO log, please contact the A.R.I. HF Contest Manager at <hfcontest.ari@gmail.com >
g) Submitted LOG may be made open to the public. Thus, by sending in your log, you implicitly agree that your log may be made open to the public.

12. Penalties and disqualifications.
Logs will be carefully checked by the Contest Committee and mistakes may cause a score reduction. There are no penalties applied to erroneous QSO, but unsportsmanlike conduct may lead to disqualification of the entry. Unsportsmanlike conduct may be found in the LOG data as well in any other recording mean available to the Committee.
All Contest Committee decisions are official and final.

13. Awards. A plaque with a certificate will be awarded to the top scoring station in each category. Special plaques can be awarded by the Contest Committee if country/continental/call-area participation can justify such a decision. A digital award/certificate will be awarded to all stations and will be either sent by email or downloaded from the web-site.

14. Implicit Declaration: By submitting an entry in the ARI International DX Contest you agree that:
a) you have read and understood the rules of the contest and agree to be bound by them;
b) you have operated according to all the rules and regulations of your country that pertain to amateur radio;
c) your log entry may be made open to the public;
d) all actions and decisions of the A.R.I. HF Contest Committee are official and final.

Regolamento per i partecipanti Italiani

NOVITA’: WEB-Upload per i log ua9qcq.com UNICA OPZIONE

1) Partecipazione. Sono invitati a partecipare OM e SWL Italiani e stranieri.

2) Scopo. È un contest di tipo "world-wide", è quindi possibile lavorare/ascoltare stazioni di qualsiasi paese. Eccezione:NON sono consentiti QSO/HRD tra stazioni Italiane.

3) Data ed orario. Il contest si svolge il primo weekend completo di Maggio con inizio alle ore 1200Z del sabato e termine alle ore 1159Z della domenica. L'edizione 2015 avrà luogo il 2-3 Maggio.

4) Categorie. Sono previste le seguenti categorie di partecipazione per le quali saranno stilate classifiche separate:
Singolo Operatore CW; HIGH/LOW POWER
Singolo Operatore SSB; HIGH/LOW POWER
Singolo Operatore RTTY; HIGH/LOW POWER
Singolo Operatore misto; HIGH/LOW POWER
Multi Operatore (singolo TX) misto; (solo HIGH POWER)
SWL Singolo Operatore misto;
Verrà calcolata, a cura del Contest Committee, anche una classifica per Sezioni ARI, secondo quanto riportato nel paragrafo 12 – “Classifiche e Premi”.

Note:
a) NON sono consentite trasmissioni simultanee su bande e/o modi diversi, tranne che per le stazioni Multi-Operatore secondo le specifiche regole per esse previste. Chi, Singolo Operatore, opera in più di un modo di emissione, deve partecipare alla categoria Misto (D),
b) l'uso del Cluster è consentito a tutti i partecipanti con esclusione di operazioni di “Self-Spotting”, sia dirette che evidentemente a cura di altre stazioni “complici”.
c) i punti accreditati per la classifica per le Sezioni ARI sono ottenuti dalla somma dei migliori punteggi di tutte le stazioni di ciascuna Sezione in ogni categoria. Per questo motivo è necessario che i Soci indichino la Sezione di appartenenza sul log. Non saranno conteggiati i punteggi di quelle stazioni che non indicheranno la propria sezione di appartenenza.
d) La sezione di appartenenza andrà indicata, con il numero identificativo a quattro cifre, nel campo LOCATION: nnnn, introdotto sia nello standard CABRILLO 3.0 che nel CABRILLO 2.0. Per lo standard 2.0 occorrerà inserire il campoLOCATION: con un editor di testo. (vedi par.11 nel dettaglio)
e) Le stazioni Multi Operatore sono tenute a rispettare la cosiddetta “regola dei 10 minuti”, applicata in analogia ai maggiori contest mondiali. E’ permesso l’uso di un solo trasmettitore su una sola banda e modo durante un periodo di 10 minuti. Eccezione: una – e solo una – seconda banda/modo potrà essere usata durante un periodo di 10 minuti se – e solo se – la stazione lavorata è un nuovo moltiplicatore. Il periodo di 10 minuti inizia con il primo QSO sulla banda/modo su cui esso avviene. Gli eventuali QSO in violazione della suddetta regola vanno lasciati comunque a log e saranno annullati senza ulteriore penalità. Un numero eccessivo di violazioni della regola dei 10 minuti può però portare alla squalifica del LOG. Il LOG deve indicare quale trasmettitore lavora ogni singolo QSO. Nel formato CABRILLO verrà utilizzata, come da convenzione, la colonna 81 della stringa QSO, riportando il numero “0” (zero) per la stazione Runner e il numero “1” (uno) per la stazione Moltiplicatori. Si specifica che la regola dei 10 minuti è valida sia per la stazione Runner che per la stazione addetta ai Moltiplicatori.
f) I partecipanti nella categoria LOW POWER potranno utilizzare al massimo 100W di potenza totale in uscita.

5) Bande. È consentito l'uso delle bande dai 10 ai 160m (RTTY: dai 10 agli 80m) con esclusione delle bande WARC nel rispetto dei Band Plan, IARU e nazionale.

6) Rapporti. Le stazioni Italiane passeranno l'RST + la sigla automobilistica della provincia dalla quale stanno operando. Le stazioni DX passeranno l'RST + un numero progressivo a partire da 001.

7) Punti/QSO. Ogni QSO/HRD avrà un punteggio secondo il seguente schema:
a) i QSO/HRD con stazioni europee valgono 1 punto.
b) i QSO/HRD con stazioni extraeuropee valgono 3 punti.
Con la stessa stazione sono consentiti un massimo di 3 QSO/HRD per ciascuna banda: uno in SSB, uno in RTTY ed uno in CW.

8) Moltiplicatori. Sono considerati moltiplicatori tutti i paesi della lista DXCC tranne I, IT9 ed IS0. Ogni moltiplicatore vale una sola volta per banda indipendentemente dal modo nel quale è lavorato (massimo 6 moltiplicatori per ogni paese).

9) Punteggio. Il punteggio finale è dato dalla somma dei punti moltiplicata per la somma dei moltiplicatori.

10) SWL. Per gli SWL valgono le stesse regole che governano la competizione tra gli OM. Lo stesso nominativo non può comparire come stazione corrispondente per più di 3 volte per banda indipendentemente dal modo.

IMPORTANTE ECCEZIONE: I LOG degli SWL dovranno essere inviati entro 48 ore dalla fine del contest. (dovranno pervenire entro le ore 23.59Z del 5 Maggio 2015)

11) LOG: ATTENZIONE – SOLO WEB UPLOAD PER I LOG

a) Saranno accettati solo LOG in formato CABRILLO.

b) E’ necessario indicare la Sezione di appartenenza nel campo “LOCATION:”.
Il campo “LOCATION:” è un campo dello standard Cabrillo 3.0, ma viene introdotto, per compatibilità, anche per il formato Cabrillo 2.0, come campo non-standard.
Nel campo LOCATION: deve essere indicato il NUMERO (di 4 cifre) della propria Sezione ARI di appartenenza. Es.LOCATION: 0001 (per i soci della Sezione di Roma).
I partecipanti Italiani, non soci ARI, devono inserire in tale campo il valore NM (Non Membro).
Es. LOCATION: NM (per i partecipanti Italiani non Soci ARI)

c) I LOG dovranno essere inviati SOLO tramite WEB UPLOAD al sito ua9qcq.com a questo link diretto

d) I LOG dovranno pervenire entro, e non oltre, 5 giorni dalla data di fine contest. Per il 2015 dovranno quindi pervenire entro le ore 23.59Z del 8 Maggio 2015.

IMPORTANTE ECCEZIONE: I LOG degli SWL dovranno essere inviati entro 48 ORE dalla fine del contest. I log degli SWL dovranno quindi pervenire entro le ore 23.59Z del 5 Maggio 2015.

e) Il WEB-Uploader invierà una conferma della sottomissione del LOG

f) Una lista dei log ricevuti sarà immediatamente visibile sul sito ua9qcq.com e sarà anche pubblicata sul sito www.ari.it

g) Se non siete in grado di inviare un log in formato CABRILLO, contattate l’HF Contest Manager a <hfcontest.ari@gmail.com >

h) I LOG potranno essere resi di pubblico dominio. Pertanto, con l’invio del proprio LOG, il partecipante acconsente, implicitamente, alla sua pubblicazione.

12) Classifiche e premi. Sarà stilata una classifica per ciascuna delle categorie di cui al paragrafo 4. Saranno premiati con una placca, più un diploma, i primi classificati di ciascuna categoria.
La classifica per Sezioni ARI sarà determinata dalla somma dei migliori risultati, per ogni categoria, ottenuti dagli appartenenti alla Sezione (secondo quanto indicato nel campo LOCATION del LOG).
Le prime 3 Sezioni classificate riceveranno una targa.

Premio Speciale per le Stazioni "IQ": la prima stazione "IQ" classificata nella categoria Multi Operatore sarà premiata con una placca (nel caso in cui questa stazione vinca la categoria Multi Operatore, il Premio Speciale sarà assegnato alla stazione "IQ" seconda classificata).

Premio di partecipazione alle Sezioni: ogni Sezione che avrà propri soci partecipanti in almeno 8 delle 10 categorie (vedi paragrafo 4), indipendentemente dal punteggio realizzato, riceverà un diploma di  partecipazione.

Ogni stazione partecipante riceverà un Diploma/Certificato digitale che sarà inviato per e-mail o sarà scaricato dal sito web.

13) Penalità e squalifiche. Tutti i log che perverranno saranno accuratamente controllati e gli eventuali errori riscontrati potranno causare riduzioni di punteggio. Non saranno applicate penalità aggiuntive per i QSO errati, ma eventuali comportamenti antisportivi potranno essere causa di squalifica. Tali comportamenti antisportivi potranno essere riscontrati sia dai LOG sia da qualunque altra fonte di dati registrati nella disponibilità del Committee.

Ogni decisione del Contest Committee sarà finale ed inappellabile.

14) Dichiarazione implicita. Con l’invio del proprio LOG al Committee del ARI International DX Contest ciascun partecipante dichiara che:
a) ha letto e compreso il regolamento del Contest e accetta di essere ad esso vincolato;
b) ha operato secondo le leggi e i regolamenti previsti per il Servizio di Radioamatore in Italia;
c) il proprio LOG possa essere reso di pubblico dominio;
d) accetta che tutte le azioni e le decisioni dell’ARI Contest Committee siano finali ed inappellabili.

AWARD AND SPECIAL TROPHY 

“150th ANNIVERSARY OF THE ITU”

This year 2015, the month of May marks the 150th anniversary of the signing of the first International Telegraph Convention and the creation of the International Telecommunication Union.

To commemorate this important event, the Spanish Amateur Radio Association URE, member of the IARU, launches the following Special Award, available to all licensed radio amateur or SWL worldwide. Will be valid contacts made in any mode or band between 160 meters and 6 meters with the 11 special stations with the prefix AO150. The suffixes of the 11 Special Event Stations are the letters of ITU’s motto for its 150th anniversary

    “ITU: INNOVATING TOGETHER”

Therefore, the 11 different stations are:

AO150I, AO150N, AO150O, AO150V, AO150A, AO150T, AO150G, AO150E, AO150H, AO150R and AO150U

DATES:

From 1st (00.00Z) to 30th (24.00Z) May, 2015

AWARD

Diplomas will be awarded in three different categories depending on the number of special stations AO150 contacted by the applicant (or received in case of SWLs)

SILVER DIPLOMA

Stations in Europe: It will be awarded for contacts with at least 8 different Special AO150 stations, whatever the mode and band.

Stations outside of Europe: It will be awarded for contacts with at least 4 different Special AO150 stations, whatever the mode and band

GOLD DIPLOMA

Stations in Europe: It will be awarded for contacts with 8 different Special AO150 stations, each of them in at least 3 different bands, whatever the mode used.

Stations outside of Europe: It will be required contacts with at least 4 different Special AO150 stations, each of them in at least 3 different bands, whatever the mode used.

PLATINUM DIPLOMA

Stations in Europe: It will be awarded for contacts with ALL 11 different Special AO150 stations, each of them in at least 3 different bands, whatever the mode used.

Stations outside of Europe: It will be required contacts with at least 6 different Special AO150 stations, each of them in at least 3 different bands, whatever the mode used.

All Diplomas will indicate the Name and Callsign of the applicant and its position achieved in the ranking of his/her DXCC by number of total valid QSO.

TROPHIES

It will be awarded a special medallion in high quality crystal, personalized with the engraved name and call to each one of the 25 licensed participants with the highest number of different contacts made with the special AO150 stations in different modes and bands (slots). The modes to be used are: 1.- SSB, 2.- CW and 3.- Digital modes on all of the following amateurs bands from 160 to 6 meters :160m, 80m, 40m, 30m, 20m, 17m,15m, 12m, 10m and 6m. One slot is the combination of one of the three modes and each of the ten bands. Duplicated contacts with the same station on one slot (same band and mode) will only count once.

Every trophy will include the number of the position achieved by each of the 25 TOP scorers.

The online query of the log and the position of participants in the ranking of slots can be followed daily on the website of the organization at www.itu150.ure.es.

The log will be updated every 24 hours. It is recommended to try to repeat the contact if a station is not found in the log. However, at the end of the Award, from May. 31th to June, 15th 2015, any participant can submit reasoned claims if he/she thinks that a QSO is not properly reflected in the online Log.

APPLICATIONS:

Petitioners who qualify on each category may download their personalized Diploma in pdf format from the web. Diplomas will be available for download from June 15th 2015. No need to send the list of QSOs since the log will be available in the web. SWLers should send their list of stations received to ITU award and the Diploma will be sent by email.

The 25 trophies/medallions for highest slot scorers will be sent free of charge to each one of the winners to their postal address. The list of candidates to medal will be available on line on the web page on a dayly basis. After conclusion winners must confirm their address to ituaward@ure.es.

If a participant wishes to receive a printed Diploma on high quality paper, it can be requested at a cost of €7 (seven euro) for a single diploma. In case the applicant whishes to receive two or three copies of the printed award (e.g. Platinum & Gold & Silver) cost will be €10 (ten euro). Payment can be made by PAYPAL:

La stazione speciale trasmette il 25 Aprile 2015 dalla località di Castell'Alfero (AT) in occasione della fiera mercato "Viviverde".

Saranno in aria 3 postazioni campali che opereranno su tutte le bande radioamatoriali in CW, FONIA, MODI DIGITALI e DMR.

The special station transmit April 25 2015 from Castell'Alfero, a small town in the northern part of Italy, during the "Viviverde", a beautiful country fair.

Will be on air three station that operate all ham bands and all ham modes: CW, PHONE, DIGITAL MODES and DMR.

The FT-991 is the next generation in all mode, all band MF/HF/VHF/UHF transceiver with C4FM (System Fusion) Digital capability. The FT-991 includes multi-mode operation on CW, AM, FM, SSB, and Digital Modes (Packet, PSK31, RTTY and C4FM), with 100 Watts of HF Capability (50 Watts VHF/UHF). 

The New FT-991 now includes a high-resolution full color 3.5" TFT Touch panel for superior operability and visibility, incorporating a High Speed Spectrum scope with ASC (Automatic Spectrum-scope control) built right in.
